HOW WE CAN HELP

We provide financial assistance to those in the hair and beauty industry who, for whatever reason, have fallen on hard times - from mental or physical illness to victims of domestic violence.

Since the pandemic, we have seen a 144% increase in requests for financial assistance, and the total annual funding provided to applicants rise by 74%. During this time, we set up a relief fund to support those in our industry who fell through the gaps of government funding schemes.

Our beneficiaries are considered on a 3, 6 or 12 month basis, depending on each individual situation. Our caring charity committee meet every month to review all applications that meet the criteria.

WHO WE HELP

To help applicants decide whether to apply, help is typically provided to those who:

Become ill or disabled

Have a terminal illness

Suffer mental health problems

Have become homeless

Become carers for elderly relatives, children, spouses/partners or other dependents

Have suffered a bereavement which has adversely affected their financial circumstances

Are without sufficient income to meet basic needs

Please note we will ask the following questions:

How long have you been involved in the hair and beauty industry?
When did you last work in the industry?
What help are you looking for?
Why do you need the help?

HOW TO APPLY

STEP 1

Complete your form with our easy to use online application form. The form can be completed over a period of time, simply save the document and a link will be sent to your inbox (remember to check your junk file if not received).

STEP 2

Upload your documents. Please note that we cannot accept multiple screenshots from mobile banking apps as bank statements. ‘Complete’ bank statements are used to corroborate the income/expenditure declared within the application form. Multiple screenshots are not suitable for this purpose.

STEP 3

On receipt of all of the correct information, your case will be put to the Hair & Beauty Charity Committee. You will be notified of the outcome within 21 days.

The Hair & Beauty Charity’s decision in regards to each confidential application is final and no further correspondence will be entered into. This does not preclude an applicant from applying again should their circumstances change.
